Common, traditional putters are typically cast in a mold to form their shape.  Inherent in this approach is the possibility for flaws and imperfections in the metal as the club head is produced.  Porosity can form within the metal as well as on the surface.  Uneven cooling can cause density variations affecting weight and balance.  Furthermore, achievable flatness tolerances on the club face are significantly lower.  Cast clubs also often require welding that can distort weight, balance and feel.  One-Piece Technology eliminates these variances and achieves the truest weighted, flattest faced, most precise putting tools possible.

At Bettinardi Golf, our passion for excellence commands a different approach.  Our design engineers are guided by a simple directive: To craft the finest putters in the world.  Rigorous and extensive analysis of the physics of putting is behind every Bettinardi crafted.  This analysis is ongoing and allows for the many innovations to come out of the Bettinardi design studio.

Analysis leads first to material selection.  The finest putters begin as solid blocks of the finest raw materials.  Double-aged stainless steel, 6061 aircraft-grade aluminum, and carbon steel are the materials of choice as they are known for their consistency, weight, strength, and reaction at point of contact with the ball.  The use of these metals results in a putter that golfers note as not only looking and feeling great but even sounding superb:  The sign of a truer putt.

Working with machines able to meet tolerances in the aerospace and medical industries, the block of raw metal is CNC milled, slowly removing material to gradually sculpt the form of the putter while not creating heat, thereby preserving the integrity of the metal.

From the time the block of metal begins to take shape as a putter to the time it can be called a Bettinardi, it will have undergone 32 individual processes over a period of 4 days.  From milling to honing, to buffing, to nano-engraving, every painstaking step is essential to bring you the finest in putting technology and the most attractive and sought-after putters in the industry.

Their performance speaks for itself on the putting green.  Their beauty is apparent upon first glance and is a result of superior functional design.  Bettinardi’s proprietary Honeycomb club face, for example, is a result of the best approach to achieve a perfectly flat club face.
